AP Literature and Composition

1.  The completed data sheet for your first independent reading book is due on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST. 
2.  Your second poet report is due on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH.
3.  Your midterm is on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH

Also, there are a couple of upcoming assignments that I have canceled.
For the next two weeks (October 25 - November 5):
 - You will not have a vocabulary quiz
 - You will not have a poetry response due.

Also, in regards to Moodle, you obviously realize that I have not posted new Moodle homework in a couple of weeks.  We will start up with Moodle again at the start of Term 2.  

Read about your school of literary theory.  Start working on your powerpoint (this is optional).
Literary Criticism Assignment Sheet with descriptions of the schools of literary theory.

1. Reread the last 12 pages of the book (2nd half of Part 3).
2. Poetry Response

1.  Study for Vocabulary Quiz 7. You pick the sentence pattern this week!
2.  Reread the 2nd half of Part 2 in Heart of Darkness.

1. AP multiple choice practice with passages from Heart of Darkness.
2. Reread the first half of Part 2 (pages 27-38)
3.  Start working on your section presentation (Will goes tomorrow!)

Read "White Man's Burden" and "Brown Man's Burden." 
Write a Found poem based on the conversation that these two poets have through their poems.  Start reading Heart of Darkness.

INDEPENDENT NOVEL STUDY!  Oops...did you forget?  I did.  

 I just realized that I never remind you to work on your Major Works Data Sheet for you independent reading book.
Because of this forgetfulness on my part, you will have your first independent reading book discussion on Friday, October 15th instead of tomorrow (the day it was originally schedule for).  On Friday, you will have the opportunity to talk with your peers about your IRB and make connections between the texts.  I will give you a couple of topics on Friday to focus your discussion (if needed).  Half of your Major Works Data Sheet will also be due on Friday.  I have attached for your convenience a Data Sheet with Explanatory comments and a blank Data Sheet for you to fill out.  I would prefer your data sheets to be typed.  Thanks!
