Welcome to English 10 Honors!

1.  FINISH YOUR MASK PROJECT!! Presentations will begin tomorrow.  There will not be anytime to work on your masks in class.
2.  Vocabulary Quiz 3 is tomorrow!

Tomorrow you will have the entire period to work on your masks.  Please bring in a sketch of your mask and any special materials that you may need.

1. Write three working thesis statements.  Your thesis statement needs to draw a connection between your motif and a theme.  See attached worksheet.
2.  Complete your Ibo/American elements of culture chart.

Read Chapters 20-22 and write a one page response on the character Enoch.  In your response you will need to EITHER:
condemn his actions
or
defend his actions
Please use at least two pieces of evidence from the text to support your position.

Also, after reflecting on the discussion we had in Period 2 today about close reading, I have decided to allow those who feel they did poorly on the quiz today to take a make-up quiz tomorrow.  Please make sure you are prepared!

1. Read chapters 17-19 in Things Fall Apart.
2.  Find examples of your motif and add to your motif tracking sheet.
3.  Study for a possible TFA quiz.
